Visiting Other Lodges

Apr 12, 2024 | Prince Henry the Navigator Lodge and Chapter

Visiting other lodges and chapters is one of the attractive sides to being a Freemason. It allows you to enjoy different surroundings and socialise with other like-minded Freemasons.
Adrian Peters, a member from Lancaster Lodge and Chapter recently visited the Algarve. He writes “After being a Mason in Portugal for almost 4 years, I decided it was time I joined Royal Arch. Lancaster Lodge No.9413 is my Mother Lodge and so I joined Lancaster Chapter recently. My first meeting there was interesting and I was keen to visit other Chapters in Portugal.
I noted two meetings in the Algarve on the same date, one Chapter and one Craft, and so decided to travel down there from the Silver Coast. I was welcomed to both meetings as I would have expected. I attended Prince Henry the Navigator Chapter No.9360 at 4:30pm and then Britannia Masters Lodge No. 9575 at 5:30pm.
Both were very enjoyable ceremonies and I took a photo at each. The festive board followed at 7:45pm and great camaraderie was shared. I find visiting extremely rewarding and feel it is an essential part of Freemasonry.”
